About Us

There is a reasonable assumption that you are about to discover your new favorite band. Based in New Orleans and led by Armando Educ, Salsa Royale builds its sound from a combination of infectious enthusiasm and powerful talent.

Salsa music is a popular dance music that initially arose in New York City during the 1960s. Salsa is the product of various musical genres including the Cuban son montuno, guaracha, cha cha chá, mambo, and to a certain extent bolero, and the Puerto Rican bomba and plena. Latin jazz, which was also developed in New York City, has had a significant influence on salsa arrangers, piano guajeos, and instrumental soloists.

Have fun trying to classify Armando Leduc.  He has the rock pipes, mixed with smooth latin soul, and his vocal styling is reminiscent of 60’s and 70’s greats. Trained as an opera singer but with a hunger for Salsa, he's one of those fortunate souls with plenty to express and the range to deliver.

Armando Leduc y Salsa Royale’s tight piano and percussion kick off a good-time salsa that seamlessly weaves in electric guitar and tight vocal harmonies. These musicians play with passion, energy, and virtuosity. From there, your safest bet is to call it a hodgepodge of genres in the best way possible.

This band's dedication to authenticity is masterfully executed with a serious dose of sabor.

Words don't do this band justice.
